Sandcastles
When you feel alone
And all left out
When you feel you just can’t
And you are filled with doubt
On the days that the sheets
Feel like they are lead
And you’d rather just cry
While staying all day in bed
When the work feels too tough
And you can’t do much more
When moving your legs
Feels like it’s own chore
When the friends that you know
Are no longer around
And an ear ringing silence
Is an obnoxious loud sound
Just take a deep breath
Take one maybe two
Then look in a mirror
Until you see you
You should see the creation
That God’s made in there
From the tip of your toes
To the top of your hair
You’re a descendant from Adam
Whom God breathed in life
He formed him from dust
Both him and his wife.
The same God that designed them
Formed both you and I
And designed us to live
And then our bodies to die.
Like sand castles we are
So neat when they’re built
But the first wave that comes
Each and all surely wilt.
Don’t miss the great plan
This life is too short
To spend your time moping
As if your losing in some sport.
Look up towards God
He made you Himself
You’re His living creation
Not something for the shelf.
You are destined for heaven
To follow Jesus our Lord
Nothing can defeat you
He’s given you His sword.
Learn to use it well
On yourself if you must
Use the sword to clean out
All of the sadness and rust.
A future awaits you
No matter where you’re at now
It’s amazing at the end
Even if you can’t see it now.
Live life to the fullest
And love all you can
Enjoy every moment
Make each moment grand.
I mentioned before
That our bodies will break
But you don’t need to worry
That’s not what’s at stake
Death will seem scary
To those that don’t know
What Jesus did for all
A couple thousand years ago
He didn’t just tell us
But showed us a way
To beat the darkness of death
With His shining ray.
